Miracles
from Emily
Hailing From: Memphis, Tenn.
Where it Happened: St. Jude Hospital

When I was about 7 my little brother (Gregory) was diagnosed with cancer. He was only 3 years old at the time and was hardly home because of tests and surgery's at St.Jude. When the doctors told my parents the kind of cancer my brother had (Ewings Sarcoma) and that even if they amputated the leg there was only a 95% chance of him surviving, it was a real hard blow.

One day my mother took Gregory in for another test. She sat in the cafe drinking a Coke and thinking what would happen to my brother. My dad told her not to worry and he left to use the restroom.

As soon as my dad had left my mom saw a woman who resembled my great aunt Hellen (who had died the year before from cancer) come in to the cafe and sit behind my mom. My mom not in the mood for company turned away. Then my mother said she swore she could smell Aunt Hellens perfume she always wore my mom looked at the woman she just smiled. As my mother has told me many times, as soon as she saw that smile all her worry and fear had just washed away and she had a strong feeling everything was going to be ok.

My mom smiled back. The woman took a sip of her coffee smiled once more at my mother, got up and walked right past my dad as he came back into the cafe.

My mother asked if he thought the woman he had just passed looked like Aunt Hellen. He gave her a confused look and asked who she was talking about. She said that woman who walked right by you at the doors. He was confused, he had no clue who she was talking about. He hadn't seen anyone.

"Everything is going to be ok," my mom then told my dad.

A few hours later the doctors told us they were stumped. My brothers test's had come back as new bone growth. They said they needed to take another sample. Once again the doctor came back with a confused look on his face. Yet again the test came back as new bone growth. The cancer was gone. They said it was a miracle and that nothing like this had ever happened before.

That day Aunt Hellen was truly with us.

God had answered out prayers and sent us an angel!!

Thanks Emily for the story. Much appreciated. These are the kind of things that people in waiting rooms pray for ... and your mom's prayers were answered.
