Arrivals & Departures
from Megan
Hailing From: Dickson, Tennessee
Where it Happened: An Apartment in Memphis

I t started when my brother was a baby. I wasn't yet born but I'm telling the story I have heard.

My family lived in an apartment building in Memphis, Tennessee. It was an old run down apartment. One day my father was in the bathroom and my mother was in the kitchen fixing my baby brother a bottle. My baby brother was supposedly asleep in his crib in his tiny little apartment room. As my mom was making the bottled milk, she heard a baby's cry, so she assumed it was my brother. She went into the room to check on him and he was fast asleep in his crib. She asked my dad, if he heard my brother cry, and he said he had, but when the baby he stopped he assumed my mom was attending to him.

My mom blew it off and went back to the kitchen making coffee and milk. She heard the baby's cry again and went to check on my brother once more, but as before, she found him still asleep.

She then asked dad if he went in there and he said no, I was thinking you did.

And it was then that the room started to cry . . .

And, as twice before, my mother went in there and this time it no longer stopped for her presence. For a brief moment she stood in the middle of the room and listened to the walls wailing like an infant calling for help.

She quickly grabbed my brother and they left the apartment. Later on she found out that the building was built on a cemetery plot and a fire had previously happened in the apartment in which my parents and my brother lived -- and it had been in that fire where a newborn infant perished.

I'm not sure if the room still cries, but I do know the apartment building still stands today on the same street where we left it years ago.

Thanks Megan for the story. Much appreciated. Every once in a while we receive one that brings back an audible ghost without other signs. I wonder, if you had stuck around, like some who attempt to make friends with spirits, whether it would have gotten weirder or possibly soothed that troubled soul. One never knows, I suppose. I guess we all make arrivals and departures in this lifetime, probably more times a day than we could ever be aware of.

PS .. If you have been a reader here for five years or more, and wish to write and let me know you appreciate our site, please write and state you have been coming by for more than five years, when you first started (ie: month and year), and leave your name, city and state. I would appreciate it very much. Just write me at keno@123gold.com
