Little Red Riding Hood...

In the
summer of 1960 my aunt bought a house in Duarte, Ca. The
house is old, and has had many previous owners. Nothing unusual had
happened until about five years later. My aunt in that five year period
had two kids. At the time one was 3 and the other 1. Her room has a
door that goes directly into her kitchen. She says it was about 1 am when
she was woken up because of noises coming from the kitchen. She tried to
wake up my uncle, but he didn't wake up so she decided to go look. When
she opened the door there was no one in the kitchen. She decided not to
tell anyone.
A year after the previous event one of her sisters came over from Mexico.
My aunt's sister was alone because my uncle was at work and my aunt had
gone to the store. She was in the living room ironing clothes and
watching television. She looked left into the kitchen and saw a little
girl standing there. The girl looked normal so my aunt's sister didn't
get scared. She asked the girl what she wanted. The little girl
didn't
answer she just walked across the living room and into my cousins room.
My sister's aunt followed her, but when she went into my cousin's room she
disappeared. My sister's aunt got really scared so she went to my uncles
house which was next door.
My aunt's sister had told the event to my aunt, but she didn't want to
believe it. A couple of days after they both attended a neighborhood
meeting. My aunt decided to ask an older resident if she knew anything
about the previews owners of the house. The older lady told her that the
last family that lived there left soon after their daughter died.
My aunt
asked why the girl had died, the lady told her that she and a friend were
playing in what now is my aunts front yard and that a woman was pulling
out of here driveway and her brake pedal got stuck. She ran over both
girls; the girl's friend survived since the only thing that was run over
was her leg. Unfortunately, the girl who lived in the house died
instantly since her whole body was run over. My aunt's sister told the
lady that she had seen a little girl with a red dress. The lady was
surprised because she said that the little girl had been killed in the
same attire.
I didn't believe any of these things, but about a year ago something
strange happened. We gathered at my aunt's house for a Thanksgiving
dinner. I started hearing voices in the kitchen. I asked everyone if
they could hear the voices too, and they said yes. We got scared because
everyone was in the living room, so there was no possibility of people
being in the kitchen, especially since the voices sounded like children
voices. No one wanted to go check, so I decided I would go. I went
into
the kitchen and saw no one. I checked the door to see if maybe it was
open but it was locked.
Since that day nothing has happened, but know I definitely believe there are
ghosts.
Creepy story! It is so sad to think that little girl whose life was cut short by a common accident is still wandering through the house. Is she looking for someone? Does she realize that she is dead? How tragic that her family moved on, perhaps that is why they moved on? What a sad little spectre. Hopefully the child has since skipped down the way into eternity.
Do you ever ask yourself if those who are about to cross over "know" they are going? Do you ever consider when you tell someone goodbye that it could be forever? Read on dear reader.....

I am no
stranger to encounters with ghosts. Here is just one of
my many stories. This story takes place in 1972 in a little town in Texas.
I was in my early 20's,married and had 2 children.
I often have dreams or if you want to call it premonitions that's your choice. I awoke from a nightmare, soaking wet from sweat and crying profusely. I had just dreamt that my father had been hit by a truck and killed. My father and I were very close. We saw each other every day.
I had
left my two children in his care to go to work. I arrived to pick them up and
visited for a bit. Upon leaving, I kissed him and told him that I would see him
tomorrow. He replied, "if I live long enough". I was approximately
half way home when all of a sudden a mocking bird flew into my windshield and
died upon impact. I began to cry. I was only a block from my house when I saw
more
death.
A young boy had been hit by a truck and was lying in the street, dead. The next day I refused to let my husband leave for work. I insisted that he and my brother wait. He became agitated with me and had just turned the engine over when the phone rang. It was a nurse telling me that I needed to get to the hospital quick. We got in the truck and headed off to the hospital. I told my husband not to rush because my dad had already passed. He got angry with me and didn't believe me. When we arrived indeed my dad was gone.
Later that night I went to bed trying to go to sleep. I looked up from the blankets and there was my dad asking me to come with him. I told him, I couldn't I had to raise my kids. He said, it was ok and he would see me later and vanished.
The details on my dream/premonition:
My
father was walking to town to pick up my half brothers van. Back then
there were no sidewalks. My brother stopped on his way to school and asked him
if he needed a ride. He told him no and don't be late for school. A man
driving a pick up truck fell asleep behind the wheel and hit my dad. The
incident happened exactly as I dreamt it.
The day
of the funeral I got a call from my half brother asking me to come and get him
so he could go to the funeral. I refused as I believed it was his fault my
dad was dead.
It was a sunny day but also strange. All was still, not a breeze, no birds were singing. The flowers were placed atop the casket and all around. All of a sudden out of nowhere a giant gust of wind blew all of the flowers off the top of the casket. Everyone looked puzzled. All at once everyone turned to see my half brother walking towards us with something in his hand. Then he turned back and put it back in his van.
My dad
visits regularly. I find objects moved in and about the house. Never
lay a pencil down because you won't ever see it again.
Thanks
for your story L. The various ways our destinies are intertwined and play
out may never become clear to us. The best we can do is love and forgive
each other, since nothing is truly clear until we get to the other side of
Jordan.

There is a saying that the city never sleeps. And for those in the know, a hospital is a city unto itself. With birth, death and miracles occurring within its hallowed halls with regularity. And what of those privy to it's secrets? Sometimes they get a glimpse of glory...
I'll fly away, oh Glory...

This is
a true story, it just happened to me the other day. Personally, I've
always believed "ghost stories" were a figment of one's imagination,
or just coincidences of unrelated circumstances . . . until
the other night.
I'm a nurse, and I work the midnight shift at my local hospital. The
hospital
is old, but always well lit, and quite busy (even at night), so there's really
never any time that it seems spooky in the least, but earlier this week --
none of that mattered.
As I was making rounds on my assignment of patients, I heard the operator call
overhead that we had a "code blue;" a call that someone had stopped
breathing
(or their heart had stopped), and that all qualified personnel needed to go to
that room to aid in that person's resuscitation efforts. Being educated
in "advanced cardiac life support," I ran to that unit to help, along
with
several other ICU, ER nurses, and the ER physician who is automatically in
charge of such efforts.
I can't give any details due to patient confidentiality, but after several
minutes of our resuscitative efforts on this individual, the physician stopped
us, and pronounced the patient dead. A few of us remained in the room with
the deceased as the others filed out, and we discussed certain matters about the
patient's health and demise.
About five minutes after the patient's death, a wind came through the room (from
the inside of the building -- I am not joking), and blew the blinds out
of the patient's open window -- forcibly and quite loudly, as if someone had a
large vacuum cleaner around the outside of the window. As
quick as it had come, it was gone.
Those of
us in the room were quite startled, and several of us remarked that it seemed
the deceased was in a real hurry to get out of that place!
Those of us from the different departments left the room after that, kind of
laughing the whole thing off. Of course, it couldn't have REALLY been that
guy's spirit bursting out of the room, headed for some other destination . . .
no way!
Or, could it have been?
Thanks for relating your experience Jay! In some areas of the world, immediately following a death, the nurses will throw open all of the windows to allow the soul of the deceased to escape. Here in the states we seldom see this practiced, much less do we have the rare honor of experiencing a soul bursting from it's earthly confines...
Kind of puts a whole new twist on "trans-cultural nursing practices" eh...

Little Girl Lost...

When
I first moved into my old house, I met one of my friends. Every
day we would go to this field (we weren't suppose to go there because it
was private property). One day when we went, we saw a human figure.
We could tell it was a girl. She was
wearing a long white gown and had long
wavy blond hair. The girl was reaching out her arms toward us. She kept
disappearing but when she would reappear she kept coming closer. We got on our
bikes and went home as fast as we could!
Over the years we forgot about her. Now that I am older and live in a new house it seems only like a dream, but one night when another of my friends came to visit we went outside with my radio and were dancing. My brother came too. My parents weren't home, they went to do some shopping.
My brother started yelling, he was shouting at us to go inside. We asked him why, he pointed at a white figure, it was reaching out its arms so we ran inside and locked the doors. It was coming closer so we called our parents. We told them that someone was coming and was trying to get in. They hurried home. When they got home my dad looked outside he found nothing.
Later that night my friend woke up to
get a drink of water and saw
the figure again. She ran downstairs to wake me up and she said she saw the
figure clearly and told me what it looked like. Instantly my eyes widened. My
friend asked me what was wrong. I told her I've seen her before.
She asked me when and then I told her the story when I was younger. After a couple of days I got used to of seeing her every night. I could tell she was friendly, and didn't mean any harm. Every night I could tell she wouldn't go farther then the grass edge. I had a cement path way that she would never go on.
After a few days my
friend saw her with a man. The man was beating her. After that we didn't see her
for awhile. One day we saw her again and we could hear talking she said help
me. After that we hadn't seen her in awhile but we had dreams about a secret
spot we soon found out the place was real. We had another dream she was at the
secret spot near a portal screaming help me. We hadn't seen her in awhile but we hope she's ok wherever
she is.
Well dear readers, I leave this one up to you.... Was it truly a little girl lost? An innocent victim crying out for justice? An entity pretending? A figment of imagination? A rehash of "The Ring"??? We'll never know for sure... and this my friends is what makes a ghost story...
